An A.J. Brown trade from the Philadelphia Eagles to the New England Patriots doesn't necessarily appear imminent.
But there's at least one piece of good news for the Pats at this point.
The Patriots appear to be the only destination Brown likes that is actually still pursuing a trade with the Eagles for the star wide receiver at all.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said in a television appearance Monday that the Los Angeles Rams were involved but are now "out."
He put the Rams on a list of just two teams, along with the Patriots, that had still been in on Brown.
No more Rams? That leaves just the Pats.
"The Rams looked into it deeply, but ultimately decided it was not for them," Rapoport said.

He added: "The New England Patriots have had consistent dialogue with the Eagles on A.J. Brown. They are still in it."
The Eagles seem likely to hold Brown until after June 1, because dealing him after that date rather than before gives Philly about $20 million in cap savings.
That means there's still plenty of time for things to change, both for the Patriots and for other teams.
For now, though, the Pats appear to want Brown to pair with new signing Romeo Doubs and give QB Drake Maye a couple of great targets.
And if Rapoport has this right, the Patriots may simply be bidding against themselves at this point.
