Patrick Cantlay isn't a part of the Atlanta Drive GC team facing New York GC in the opening game of TGL season 2. This news, in particular, is disappointing for Atlanta fans because Cantlay was instrumental in guiding the team to TGL glory last year.
While Atlanta Drive in their statement did not provide a timeline on when Cantlay would return, the golfer recently released a statement via X in which he mentioned being 'disappointed,' and also added he can't wait to return.
Patrick Cantlay wrote:
I’m disappointed to miss today’s @TGL match but want to be sure I am 100% before returning to competition. I’m looking forward to supporting my @atlantadrivegc teammates as they kick off the new season - can’t wait to get back out there soon! You can check Patrick Cantlay's tweet below:

It's worth noting that Patrick Cantlay isn't the only one missing Atlanta's opening game against New York. Lucas Glover will also be missing the match due to injury. These injuries to both veterans of Atlanta mean that Chris Gotterup and Corey Conners will now make their TGL debut.
