The Dallas Wings guard is enjoying another outstanding campaign while helping transform Dallas into one of the league's top teams. Following another dominant performance Friday night, Nike unveiled a creative Western-themed campaign featuring Bueckers that quickly generated buzz across social media.

The centerpiece of the campaign wasn't just the visuals. It was a new nickname that many fans believe fits Bueckers' game perfectly.

Nike gives Paige Bueckers a new identity

Nike's latest advertisement styled Bueckers as an Old West outlaw, complete with a wanted poster.

The poster read:

"WANTED FOR STEALING WINS AND CRUSHING DREAMS."

It also introduced a new nickname for the Wings star: "The Midranger." The campaign quickly caught fire online, with fans praising both the creative concept and the nickname itself.

Bueckers even addressed the value of the mid-range shot after erupting for 44 points against the Los Angeles Sparks during her rookie season.

"I truly think basketball has gotten away from it, it's mostly layups and 3s," Bueckers said at the time, via ESPN's Michael Voepel. "Teams don't know how to guard it. So I think it's an advantage when you can score in the midrange."

That philosophy has continued into 2026. Through her first 23 games, Bueckers is averaging 20.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.0 assists while shooting an efficient 51.8% from the field. She added another signature performance Friday, scoring 34 points on 13-of-22 shooting in a 108-95 win over the Toronto Tempo.

The victory helped improve Dallas to 15-8, keeping the Wings firmly among the WNBA's top contenders entering the second half of the season.

Will the nickname stick?

Bueckers has long been associated with "Paige Buckets," a nickname that followed her from UConn to the WNBA. But "The Midranger" offers something different. Rather than highlighting her scoring in general, it celebrates the specific skill that separates her from many of today's stars.

With Nike putting its marketing power behind the nickname and fans overwhelmingly embracing it, there's a good chance "The Midranger" will continue gaining traction throughout the season.
