Met Gala 2026: WNBA's Paige Bueckers Explains Masterpiece Painted Suit

Paige Bueckers is scoring some style points off the court.

As the WNBA star prepared to attend the 2026 Met Gala, she detailed the love she had for her custom three-piece Coach suit, which featured multicolored graffiti blotches and intricate beading across it.

“All the little details—the beads, the coloring, everything—came together perfectly for me,” Paige shared in E!'s By Design as part of Live From E! Stream: Met Gala. “To be you, express yourself in the way that you want to enjoy the process of making a beautiful masterpiece.”

Plus, the Dallas Wings guard emphasized that her look for the first Monday in May—co-chaired this year by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour—had a special hidden detail.

“They are going to add an embroidery of the five [to the sleeve],” the 24-year-old said. “That's specific to me and my basketball number.”

Meanwhile, she noted, “For me, basketball is an art so I feel like it's just all of my worlds collabing and colliding. For this piece specifically, I really enjoyed how they put it together.”

As for how the look came to be? Paige’s stylist Jason Golden explained how he built upon the “classic suiting.”

“We wanted to do something, but then turn it up a notch and really kind of splash around with details,” he told E!. “The color choice that became very important was all of the intricate ways of placing the beading.”

“So, there's that blue, the reds, the greens,” he added. It really became the focus of this beautiful landscape.”

After all, Jason believes that Paige was the perfect subject to style for the event.

“In order to get to art, you actually have to have a point of view,” he explained. “With Paige, her point of view is so iconic and so strong and so relevant right now. It was pretty easy to see this work of art come to life.”
