Win and move on. That is the motto of late for Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings.
Since first-year head coach Jose Fernandez called out the revamped Wings for "selfishness," Dallas has caught fire with five wins in six games. A 79-56 win over the Seattle Storm on Monday night epitomized the Wings' surge up the WNBA standings, as Dallas' tough defense shut down Seattle in the first Commissioner's Cup game of the season for both teams.

Despite the dominant nature of the win, Bueckers was not thrilled with the performance -- or the spectacle for home fans in Arlington.
"Sometimes you've got to win ugly, like tonight," Bueckers said on USA Network after the victory. "I feel bad for the people who were watching, they should get all their money back."

— L (t cloud #1 fan) (@direneedofhelp) June 2, 2026The Wings (6-3) and the Storm (3-7) struggled offensively as both teams failed to crack 40 percent from the floor. Bueckers scored just 10 points, but she hauled in nine rebounds and dished out seven assists -- four of them on Dallas' first four buckets of the game.
— Underdog WNBA (@UnderdogWNBA) June 2, 2026All of a sudden, Dallas has the WNBA's fourth-best defense in terms of efficiency, and even an off night against Seattle did little to dent the Wings' general potency offensively.
The Bueckers-led offense ranks second in The W in efficiency, and Monday's 23-point victory marked Dallas' joint-largest of 2026 to date.
Not bad for a team that went 10-34 last year.
