The San Diego Padres could be in the market for a few outfielders this offseason.

Dustin Harris was a pleasant surprise for the AL West club, but the Padres may be on the lookout for a more experienced veteran.

However, keeping Harris as a bench bat would be the smart move to make.

Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter tabbed San Diego as one of the top landing spots for a two-time Gold Glove outfielder from the New York Yankees.

The 29-year-old will be a free agent this offseason after hitting .211/.308/.395 with 18 home runs and a 95 OPS+.

"The Padres had a revolving door in left field for much of the season before a platoon of Dustin Harris (100 PA, 120 OPS+, 0.9 WAR) and Samad Taylor (175 PA, 124 OPS+, 0.8 WAR) proved to be surprisingly productive.

"They could run it back with that tandem, but [Trent] Grisham would provide a more established alternative, and San Diego is plenty familiar with his game," Reuter wrote.

Grisham was involved in the trade between the Padres and Yankees that sent Juan Soto to New York in 2024.

He's spent the past three seasons in the Bronx, hitting a career-high 34 homers in 2025. Grisham was once known for his strong defense, but he had -5 outs above average in center field in 2026.

Grisham played for the Padres from 2020-23, hitting 55 homers with a .695 OPS in 496 games.

Perhaps the familiarity between the two sides could lead to free agency discussions this winter.
