The Green Bay Packers lost their reliable backup quarterback in free agency.
Malik Willis signed with the Miami Dolphins to become their starting QB, a big step for him, but one that leaves the Packers scouring the trade and free agent markets for a replacement. A new rumor might be the best possible outcome.
ESPN's Stephen Holder shared this on X on Saturday:
"Update on Colts QB Anthony Richardson, who is available via trade. No deal is imminent, per multiple sources. There are interested teams, but the dust is still settling from free agency. One particular team to monitor: the Green Bay Packers."

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler added this:
"Situation will be important for Richardson. Green Bay would be a good one."
The Packers are an established organization with a legitimate offense and a high-end starter at the most important position in sports.
Willis got a lot better from the time he arrived in Green Bay to the time he left. The hope for Richardson would be that he could do the same thing.
He hasn't panned out in his first three seasons with the Colts after being the No. 4 overall pick. Injuries have hurt his cause, and even when on the field, his inaccuracy has made it tough to find consistent success.
Richardson won't be the starter in Indy going forward. Daniel Jones has made sure that's him.
That means that Richardson's talent will likely wind up somewhere else. And apparently the Packers are viewed as an intriguing fit.
