The Green Bay Packers are coming up on a very important season. Last season, Green Bay was No. 2 in the NFC North and had a 9-7 record, which wasn't terrible, but Green Bay loves their NFL team, and that's just not acceptable by their standards. The Packers are expected to go deep every single season.
That's why this upcoming season is a make-or-break one. If Jordan Love can stay healthy and also be given the support he needs, it could go a long way for this team.
But, if this team doesn't do well this season, it could be a bad thing for head coach Matt LaFleur.
Matt LaFleur could be feeling the pressure in Green Bay
In a feature released on Tuesday, Moe Moton of Bleacher Report rattles off some of the "biggest surprises that could shake up" this upcoming season. He actually projects that the team will end the year at the very bottom of the NFC North. Even lower than the Vikings. That says a lot.
One of the reasons is because star edge-rusher Micah Parsons may not be able to play with the team for several weeks. That'll certainly hurt their defense. But, the NFL doesn't like excuses.
"Green Bay may stumble through September and October and never recover from a slow start," he states in the piece. "If the Packers finish last in the NFC North, it would be the first time it's happened since the 2005 season."
Now, if that happens, it doesn't mean LaFleur is totally done. But, considering that even after last season there were questions about how long he'd stay head coach, another sour season could mean he's on the hot seat.
