Malik Beasley once again found himself mired in betting and gambling allegations earlier this week. He was informed that he was still a part of the federal investigation, even after being cleared by the NBA. However, on Thursday, his name once again circulated because of a misunderstanding.
On Thursday, Clutch Points mistakenly reported that NBA reporter Pablo Torre had reported that Beasley was Ammar Awadeh's cousin, the defendant of "Operation Royal Flush." Beasley later called Torre out with a video.
In a series of posts on X, Torre clarified that Clutch Points had mistakenly quoted his statement on his podcast "Pablo Torre Finds Out." Torre intended to say that Awadeh is the cousin of "Moose," the same user who had leaked the FBI's investigation into Beasley.

"So I checked in with Malik's parents, Michael and Deena," he wrote on X. (They are lovely.) "They now understand what happened. And Malik has deleted the above IG video."Here is the exchange between Torre and Malik Beaskey's parents.
Beasley's Parents: Our apologies on this Pablo. Will get this fixed. Torre: Thanks. Malik read it and thought that I said that. I've had to clean up the mess. Beasley's Parents: This has been corrected. Feel free to let him know as well! Sorry again on this error. The reporter also wrote that he had contacted Clutch Points about the misreporting. CP later apologized and corrected the quote. Beasley also deleted the video.
Malik Beasley still part of the federal investigation
In August earlier this year, Malik Beasley was cleared by the NBA of any wrongdoing. Beasley was named in the investigation in relation to the betting scandal.
However, earlier this year, when Terry Rozier and Chauncey Billups were arrested by the FBI, Pablo Torre reported that Beasley was also part of the federal investigation. According to Torre, while Beasley was planning to make his return to the league, he was also named in the FBI's investigation.
Torre also reported on his Instagram post that the NBA failed to find anything that could be used against Michael Beasley. However, when the NBA was contacted about the allegations against Bealey, the league office said that they had no option but to cooperate with the officials.
According to Torre, when Malik Beasley was made aware of the allegations, he willingly handed over the phones to the NBA officials and cooperated.
