Steve Sarkisian took over as the Texas Longhorns coach in 2021. Last season, after the team joined the SEC, he competed in the conference championship game, where they lost to the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Longhorns also qualified for the 12-team playoffs. However, they were defeated by Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl semifinal showdown. This season, Sarkisian and his team are 7-3 after Saturday's loss, bringing an end to their four-game winning streak.

In the post-game press conference, the Texas coach was questioned whether this loss would impact their remaining two games of the season against Arkansas and Texas A&M.

Sarkisian responded by stating that they will make a comeback with a strong mindset and improve their game.

"I don't think it'll carry over. We have too much character in the locker room. We've got too good of a culture. I know the leadership in that locker room. We've got a ton of fighters. I've got other concerns, that's not one of my bigger ones right now."
