The Boston Red Sox are going through an overhaul in the offseason after their playoff exit in the wild-card series against the New York Yankees last season.
While the Red Sox have seen plenty of trade activity in the ongoing offseason, they are reportedly looking to offload Jarren Duran since they have a surplus in the outfield.
Jarren Duran, Roman Anthony, Wilyer Abreu and Ceddanne Rafaela are Boston's outfield choices for next season and trading someone like Duran will help the Red Sox strengthen other positions on the roster.

However, according to MLB insider Jeff Passan, the Red Sox are seeking a "front-of-the-rotation starter" for Duran.
MLB fans reacted to the Red Sox's asking price for the All-Star outfielder.
"In other words: Sox are delusional. Like I’ve said. He’s not a great player, but the Sox treat him like a superstar. Unfortunately, we’re stuck with him."In other words: Sox are delusional. So Red Sox. Overvaluing depreciating assets, unwilling to spend what it takes to get bona fide assets. Totally fine with third place in the division as long as the ballpark is full April-September.
I want whatever they’re smoking. Dude is worth not even half that.
It’s absurd for the Red Sox to think Duran is worth a top of the rotation hurler.
Wait Breslow overrates his players because of charts and not results?? No way?!!! Other GMs continue to ask who the hell is Breslow
Duran had a breakout year with the Red Sox in 2024 after slashing .285/.342.492 with an .834 OPS and a career high 21 home runs in 160 games. However, he regressed last season, slashing .256/.332/.442 with a .774 OPS and 16 home runs in 157 games.
