Liverpool are meticulously planning the summer transfer window. The reigning Premier League champions are keen to hold onto the crown as they see an opportunity to dominate the English top flight with Manchester City going through a rebuild and Arsenal struggling to put up a fight for the title despite finishing second in three consecutive seasons.
Therefore, while they are investing a big chunk in players like Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez, there could be multiple outgoings this summer with a some players all set to leave the club.
One such player, who has fallen out of favour with Arne Slot courtesy of his recent struggles in front of goal, is Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan striker was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in January, but Liverpool blocked the move back then with the hope of seeing him improve in the coming months.
But things have only gone south for the 25-year-old, and now, as per reports via Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, Nunez is open to a move to Saudi Arabia heavyweights, Al-Hilal.
Al-Hilal are desperate to wrap up the deal for the Liverpool star as they want to bolster their forwardline ahead of the Club World Cup, starting later this month in the United States.
Recently, Al-Hilal have seen rejections from Victor Osimhen and Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes, and now securing Nunez from Liverpool would be a big boost for the newly appointed Al-Hilal manager Simone Inzaghi.

How much could Liverpool earn from Nunez's sale?
As per reports from Santi Aouna, Al-Hilal have established their first contact with Nunez's entourage and now talks will go on regarding his contract and the transfer fee needs to be agreed with Liverpool, who are desperately looking to offload the Uruguayan.

Nunez joined Liverpool in 2022 from Benfica for a club record transfer fee of £85 million, which includes all the add-ons in his contract. So it was a big transfer which hasn't worked for the Reds, and now they will be keen to cut their losses.
Hence, the transfer fee could reportedly be somewhere in the region of £40-50 million and the Reds may well accept it as they need funds for a striker later in the window.
His current contract with the club runs until 2028, and therefore, they may seek for a decent fee from Al-Hilal. The Saudi Pro League outfit are yet to submit their first official bid for the striker.
Nunez has featured in 47 matches across competitions in the 2024/25 season and netted only seven goals and provided five assists. This was his worst output across the three seasons in terms of goal contributions for the Reds.
