Oregon injury report against Northwestern: Noah Whittington questionable to play

Oregon traveled to Evanston, Illinois this week and will face Northwestern on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. local time at Ryan Field. The Ducks have opened the season 2-0, and will look to open their conference schedule with a win.

Despite the game being in conference, this is just the second time Northwestern and Oregon will meet, and the Wildcats won the first meeting in 1974.

The availability report for the game was released on Saturday morning, and an important part of the Ducks offense was on the list as questionable.

Who's in? Who's out?

The injury report for Oregon's game against Northwestern listed five players questionable to play, and none questionable for Northwestern.

Sione Laulea, Theran Johnson, Noah Whittington, Austin Novosad and Kawika Rogers were all listed as questionable on Oregon's injury report.

Johnson and Novosad were both questionable last week as well, and did not play.

However, the addition of Whittington to the Ducks' injury report in concerning. The senior running back has led Oregon in rushing through the first two weeks with 16 carries for 159 yards.

The reason for Whittington being on the list is an undisclosed injury. Oregon has used seven different running backs through the first two weeks, and you can expect it to be the same on Saturday.

If Whittington were to miss the game, junior running back Malachi Hughes would likely see most of the work out of the backfield after earning nine carries last week against Oklahoma State.

Other notable Ducks who were out last week and will remain out this week are cornerback Dorian Brew, receivers Dillon Gresham and Jack Ressler, offensive lineman Bryce Boulton, linebackers Dylan Williams and Brayden Platt, and safety Trey McNutt.

It's a stormy morning in Evanston, and not ideal conditions to be throwing the football around. So, expect the Ducks to rely on their ground game early.
