Only one Piston has more ejections than Isaiah Stewart but it’s not Rasheed Wallace

The NBA is still sorting through the wreckage from Monday night's brawl between the Charlotte Hornets and the Detroit Pistons that led to the ejections of four players -- including Pistons forward Isaiah Stewart.

This isn't Stewart's first brush with controversy. For his role in trying to chase down the Hornets' Miles Bridges during Monday's melee, Stewart was ejected for the first time in the 2025-26 season and for the eighth time in his six-year career.

Though Stewart has been absolutely pivotal to the Pistons' stunning rise to the top of the Eastern Conference, he is better known for his on-court incidents than he is for his game-changing rim protection and defensive ability.

His eighth career ejection broke a tie with Jerry Stackhouse for the second-most by a Piston since the 1997-98 season. But both players trail Richard Hamilton, who was ejected from 11 games while he played for Detroit.

Though Hamilton was teammates with Rasheed Wallace -- the famously combative and technical-prone NBA champion in Detroit -- the four-time All-Star was relatively well-behaved as a Piston.

Instead, it's the former All-Star swingman Hamilton that Stewart will have in his sights amid possible -- well, likely -- future ejections.
