One Jets player is in the 'best shape of his life,' NFL analyst says

The New York Jets don't have too much to brag about going into the new season. They finished last season with a 3-14 record and obviously have to improve, and quickly. Head coach Aaron Glenn has his work cut out for him.

But, there's a bright light in the Jets' camp. Not everything is doom and gloom. One of their players has been deemed in the "best shape of his life," according to an analyst.

Ben Solak of ESPN has a feature out on Friday that hands out training camp awards. They're not real awards, of course, but he's giving players props for standing out.

The New York Jets have a player who's in his prime and ready to rock

He gives the "Best Shape of His Life Award" to Braelon Allen of the Jets.

"The Jets' backup running back opened minicamp in June by announcing that he was the 'biggest I've ever been, the strongest, the fastest,'" he says. He added that he has a ton of lean muscle and low body fat, as well as "perfect symmetry in both my legs and arms."

So, Allen isn't short on confidence, but Solak agrees. "Allen reportedly got close to 250 pounds this offseason after playing his injury-shortened 2025 season around 240 pounds," the NFL analyst says. "That would make him one of the heaviest running backs in the NFL, knocking on the door of Derrick Henry's 252 pounds."

So, the Jets can lean on Allen this season when times get tough. It's a definite bright light in their lineup.
