Three games into her WNBA career, Olivia Miles is already finding herself mentioned alongside two of the greatest players the league has ever seen.
That is not normal.
The rookie guard has given the Minnesota Lynx an immediate jolt to begin the 2026 season, looking far more polished and comfortable than most first-year guards this early in their professional careers. Through her first three games, Miles is averaging 16.3 points, 7.0 assists, and 3.7 rebounds while playing with the kind of pace and poise that instantly translates at the next level.

The former TCU star has stepped directly into meaningful minutes and immediately started controlling possessions like a veteran. She is creating easy looks for teammates, handling pressure defenses calmly, and showing the same creativity that made her one of the most entertaining guards in college basketball.
Minnesota already had championship-level talent built around stars like Napheesa Collier, but Miles has added another layer to the offense almost instantly. Her ability to push tempo and make quick reads has helped the Lynx look even more dangerous in transition.
The scary part for the rest of the league is that she still appears to be settling in.
Her outside shot has room to become more consistent, and as she grows more comfortable with WNBA defenses, the numbers could climb even higher.

Minnesota Lynx may have landed another franchise cornerstone
The hype surrounding Miles before the draft was already enormous. During her final college season at TCU, she averaged 19.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.8 steals per game while cementing herself as one of the most complete guards in the country. She also finished her college career with 12 triple-doubles, trailing only Sabrina Ionescu and Caitlin Clark on the all-time NCAA list.
That resume made her one of the most talked-about prospects entering the 2026 WNBA Draft, with some projections even placing her ahead of the eventual No. 1 pick.
Now, only three games into her professional career, it already looks like the Lynx may have landed another franchise-changing player. For a rookie to already be sharing statistical space with Bird and Parker says plenty. The bigger takeaway may be that Miles does not look overwhelmed by any of it. She looks ready for it.
