When Trinidad Chambliss transferred from Ferris State to Ole Miss, there wasn't widespread hype surrounding his arrival. The former top Division II player was ready to create his own path in the SEC and prove he was worthy of getting a shot in college football's best conference.
This wasn't an overnight process, but it felt like it for the Rebels signal-caller. Now that he has established himself at Oxford, and didn't follow Lane Kiffin to LSU, you can expect big things from Chambliss after being granted an additional year at Ole Miss.
Chambliss recalls the process of getting to where he is today in a rare interview with Vanity Fair. Despite the noise of fighting the NCAA for extra time on the books in college, he's ready to show why earning an eighth-place end in last year's Heisman Trophy voting wasn't a fluke. Chambliss put together three great games in the College Football Playoff, but the Rebels' historic season ended in a 31-27 loss to Miami.
One factor outside the field is dealing with NIL. After Kiffin tried to sway his former QB1 to be involved in Baton Rouge, Chambliss saw his hard work paying off the most at Ole Miss. He's now one of the hottest players on the market with commercials for AT&T and others. But the shock for Chambliss came when his first check cleared.

“It’s just wild to see, like, the first check hit, and it’s like, Wow, I have that much money,” Chambliss told Vanity Fair. “That’s crazy.”
As it currently stands, Chambliss has a $1.6 million valuation, according to On3. This is on the low side and is expected to double or triple during the season. While Texas QB Arch Manning sits on the top at $5.4 million, there could be changes coming soon.
