OKC Thunder vs. Dallas Mavericks: Thunder look to get revenge after recent loss in Dallas

3 hours ago 1

After defeating the Utah Jazz Wednesday night 123-114 headed by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's career high 54 points, the Oklahoma City Thunder are back in action tonight against a dwindled Western Conference rival.

Despite falling to the Mavericks on Friday, Jan. 17, they are without some very important pieces that could be in favor of the Thunder.

Time and Location

The OKC Thunder will host the Dallas Mavericks today, Jan. 23, in the Paycom Center at 8:00 PM EST/7:00 PM CST as well as on FanDuel Sports Network - Oklahoma.

Lineups

For the Thunder, here is what their starting five should look like:

As for the Mavs, here is what their potential unit may look like:

Power ForwardOliver-Maxence Prosper8

Injuries

For Oklahoma City, Chet Holmgren (hip), Isaiah Hartenstein (calf), Ajay Mitchell (toe) and Nikola Topic (ACL) are all out for tonight's game.

As for Dallas, star point guard Luka Doncic is out with calf injury alongside Dereck Lively II (ankle) and Donte Exum (wrist). Klay Thompson (ankle), Jaden Hardy (ankle), Dwight Powell (hip), and Naji Marshall (illness) are all listed as day-to-day.

What to know

The last time these two teams faced off, the Mavs beat the Thunder in Dallas 106-98. While the Mavericks were missing Luka Doncic, OKC was without MVP-candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, which proved to be troublesome for the Thunder as not one player for OKC scored above 20 points.

However for this game, things will look much different. Not only are the Thunder back in Loud City, but SGA is coming off of his best performance of the season and his career dropping 54 points on nearly 50% shooting from the field.

With Irving calling this rivalry "personal" after their Jan. 17 win and later calling this upcoming matchup "An all-out blitz. All-out warfare", there is sure to be tons of physical play on both ends of the court. Except this time around, Gilgeous-Alexander will be on the court seeking revenge.
