Cowboys reportedly showed interest in Super Bowl-winning head coach

The Dallas Cowboys have been working hard to find a suitable candidate to be the team's next head coach.

Dallas has been linked to a handful of options as the search has picked up steam. One person the team reportedly has shown interest in is former Super Bowl-winning head coach Pete Carroll, according to Nick Harris of the Forth Worth Star-Telegram.

"As the Dallas Cowboys coaching search hits a new day on Thursday, Jan. 23, more rumors have begun to fly out of The Star about where Jerry Jones could be headed in search of the franchise’s 10th head coach," Harris said. "The Star-Telegram has confirmed that Jones has contacted former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll regarding the opening. The conversation has been described as informal, although the interest is legitimate enough to be reported, according to a source."

This is very interesting. Carroll hasn't gotten enough buzz as the head coaching carousel has commenced. He won a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks and was considered to be one of the best coaches in the league for years.

He didn't spend the 2024 season with a team but has been linked to a couple already, including the Cowboys now. He's a veteran head coach who knows how to have success in the National Football League. The Cowboys need to find a way to turn things around and bringing in someone with the experience of Carroll could be a great way to do so.
