OG Anunoby receives high praise from star teammate after the huge win in Game 1

On Monday, the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers kicked off their second-round playoff series, and it was over before it could truly get started.

What started as a competitive first opening minute quickly turned into the Knicks stringing together another great performance, leading to another blowout victory, 137-98.

This is the team's third straight game winning by at least 25 points, dating back to the Atlanta Hawks series, including the historic beatdown they gave in the close-out game.

Throughout this stretch of excellence by the Knicks, starting forward OG Anunoby has undoubtedly taken his game to the next level, not only providing strong defense, as expected, but also scoring efficiently.

Anunoby gets nod of approval from Jalen Brunson on postseason play

Knicks star guard Jalen Brunson has also taken note of the rise in Anunoby's play so far this postseason, proclaiming this is the best he has seen the forward look offensively.

"The way he's been able to create space, the way he's been attacking... just playing really aggressive. Playing downhill and he's creating havoc and making good decisions", Brunson stated post-game.

That has to feel good to receive such high praise from the team's point guard and leader.

What Brunson didn't mention is how well Anunoby has shot the ball this postseason, especially from downtown.

Through seven games this postseason, Anunoby is shooting an outstanding 59 percent from three and 64 percent from the field, averaging 21 points, a 4.3 point increase from the regular season.

Typically, it is a great sign when a star player increases his production in the playoffs, but when a member of the supporting cast does as well, it only makes the team more lethal.

For the Knicks, it could be what they need to get back to the NBA Finals in June.
