A New York City public school teacher was arrested for assaulting a student inside a Brooklyn school on Monday, according to authorities and sources.
Moaz Mahmoud, 26, allegedly struck and shoved a 10-year-old student to the ground around 11 a.m. inside PS 276 on E. 83rd Street and Avenue K in Canarsie, according to the NYPD and sources.

The Department of Education did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
The Canarsie teacher was still awaiting arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court as of Monday evening.
