50 has repeatedly slammed Mamdani's policies.

Despite 50 Cent’s criticism of Zohran Mamdani’s policies, the mayor of New York City still has plenty of love for the G-Unit rapper, who has long been one of his favorite artists.
Mamdani sat down with Complex on Wednesday (July 1), where he named 50 Cent as one of his dream dinner guests, which took the host by surprise since the Queens rap legend has continued to diss the mayor.
“We could have a conversation around tax policy, a much-needed conversation,” Mamdani quipped. “My tax policies are not his favorites, but Get Rich or Die Tryin’ is still one of my favorites of all time.”
Mamdani quoted bars from 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” during his commencement speech at Borough of Manhattan Community College in May. Even though they will agree to disagree on tax policies, Mamdani called their feud a “one-sided beef” and he’ll continue to support 50’s artistic endeavors.
He continued: “It’s a one-sided beef, yeah. I think we’re always gonna have a disagreement on that tax policy. I wanna increase tax on the wealthiest; he does not want that to happen. But I will still appreciate the song ‘Many Men,’ for whatever our disagreements are.”
Last June, when Mamdani was on the mayoral campaign trail, he name-dropped 50 Cent, but 50 quickly rejected aligning with the politician. 50 even offered to pay for a plane ticket to get him out of NYC.
“Where did he come from? Whose friend is this? I’m not feeling this plan. No. I will give him $258,750 and a first class one-way ticket away from NY,” he wrote to Instagram.
Following Mamdani’s historic mayoral victory in November, 50 took to IG once again claiming that Mamdani’s reign would doom NYC.
“New York is over pack it up, let’s go! THE MAN’S First job is Mayor MAMDANI run New York. … I need a drink,” he wrote.
At 34 years old, Mamdani made history as the city’s first Muslim and South Asian mayor. Despite their political differences, perhaps Mamdani — who has rapper roots — and 50 Cent could patch things up down the line.
