Not so killer instincts.

A New York congressional candidate praised Justin Fairfax in a series of sympathy-filled social media posts after the former Virginia Lt. Governor’s horrific murder suicide Thursday — but soon deleted the messages following internet outrage.

Michael Blake — who is primarying Democrat Rep. Ritchie Torres in June’s NY-15 race — commemorated Fairfax’s “legacy” and claimed “racism” stopped his rise to power in the online postings, sparking quick backlash.

“His legacy is he murdered his wife an left his kids to find their bodies. That’s his legacy. That is why women don’t feel safe,” one instagram user railed of Fairfax — who shot and killed his wife Thursday morning before turning the gun on himself at their Virginia home.

In his since-scrubbed Instagram story, Blake lauded Fairfax, whose career had been torpedoed by accusations of sex abuse years before he killed himself and his wife this past week.

“His legacy is greater than today. Tell the story of his life of service,” Blake wrote.

“Speak about how racism derailed his dreams and stopped his rise,” he added.

Fairfax, a democrat who served as lieutenant governor from 2018 to 2022 under Ralph Northam, was once poised to be a promising replacement for Northram after he was exposed for posing in blackface in a medical school yearbook.

But Fairfax’s aspirations were also upended in 2019 when two women accused him of sexual assault. One woman claimed Fairfax assaulted her at the Democratic National Convention in 2004 — while another woman said he raped her in 2000 when they were both students at Duke University.

Despite his troubling track record, Blake doubled-down in an other Instagram post where he claimed he would remember Fairfax’s “legacy before today”.

“Don’t forget what he endured when he was hours away from becoming Governor,” Blake wrote in the since deleted rant, seemingly alluding to the sexual assault claims.

The strange feting of Fairfax by Blake did not sit well with many.

“Y’all are ignoring the pain of Black Women with posts like this,” another instagram user hit back at Blake.

While Blake’s posts across X and Instagram have since been deleted, he did not issue an explanation as to why. A rep for Blake did no immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
