After a .500 road trip, the Red Sox return to Fenway Park on Friday to open a weeklong homestand against playoff-caliber opposition.
That starts with a four-game set against the Tigers that will wrap around to the annual Patriots Day game on Monday morning, but first things first. The Sox have found some stability after dropping eight of their first 10 games this season, winning five of eight entering this weekend.

The Tigers have been streaky this year, already posting two losing skids of at least four games and a five-game winning streak. Their pitching staff is the strength of the team and has generally been solid, sitting sixth in MLB with a 3.35 ERA, but the offense has been inconsistent, scoring three runs or fewer in half their games.
Will they provide some support for starter Casey Mize, who has sandwiched two strong outings around a dud at Minnesota so far in 2026?
