For all of the amazing things Nikola Jokic has never done, he had never started a season quite like this.
But here the Denver Nuggets' superstar center is, off to a start only ever done by two other players.
Oscar Robertson has started a season with triple-doubles in each of the first four games.
So too has Russell Westbrook.
And now Jokic has joined them in that club.
The Nuggets are 3-1 thanks to Jokic's blistering start.
These are his four stat lines, from game one through game four:
- 21 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists
- 25 points, 19 rebounds, 10 assists
- 14 points, 14 rebounds, 15 assists
- 21 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists
Jokic has also nabbed a total of eight steals through four games.

The only downside of his stats so far is that he has shot just 3-for-18 from 3-point range.
The 30-year old Serbian is coming off the first season in which he has ever averaged a triple-double. This is quite the way to start his encore.
Jokic is a three-time MVP, although he was runner-up in 2024-25 to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander despite having what may have been his best season yet.
This season hasn't started with the same scoring potency as Jokic has had the past few years, but that will likely pick up. He's already doing everything else well, so there's no reason to doubt that Jokic will be his usual self going forward.
