Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic has ‘fascinating’ contract problem Denver could face, per insider

1 hour ago 2

If a player comes out and says that he's going to sign an extension with a team, I don't know why others have to come out and suggest that it won't be the case. Unfortunately for Denver Nuggets fans, they'll learn a lot of this after the Milwaukee Bucks moved on from Giannis Antetokounmpo, as some believe Nikola Jokic could be the next superstar traded.

Until he signs this next contract, those questions will continue to pop up.

The latest comments from Bobby Marks, however, feel a bit unfair, and not something I really agree with.

“Listen, the Jokic [contract situation] is fascinating for me. It’s interesting,” Marks said, H/T Heavy.

“I know he’s come out and said that Denver is where he’s going to be and all that, and he’s going to sign next year. But man, I’m just looking at the roster, like what they’ve done or really haven’t done this offseason, and going into next year as the third best, fourth best, fifth—I don’t know—you can go down the pecking order there. They’re basically the same team, right? They’re the same team, and they still have the Peyton Watson situation to figure out.”

It almost feels like some are going to try to run Jokic out of town if the Nuggets don't start winning soon. However, he doesn't strike me as a guy to stir up drama as Antetokounmpo did at the end.

Perhaps that changes if he gets very frustrated about the situation, but only time will tell.
