Nuggets make rough Aaron Gordon NBA Playoffs injury decision vs. Timberwolves

The NBA Playoffs series between the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves are tied at 1-1. However, it looks like Nikola Jokic will be shorthanded in Game 3. This is because Aaron Gordon got a big injury update that changes Coach David Adelman and his schemes a lot. How bad is it?

Nuggets rule out Gordon vs. Timberwolves in Game 3

Aaron Gordon has officially been ruled out for Game 3 of the Nuggets and Timberwolves' NBA Playoffs first-round series, per Chris Haynes of NBA on Prime. Reportedly, the Nuggets forward is suffering from a calf injury.

Notably, he is experiencing tightness in that left calf. This is also not the first time that Coach David Adelman and the Nuggets had to face his injury reality. Gordon was only able to play 36 games alongside Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray for their 2025-26 campaign. In the lead up to the NBA Playoffs, he was able to play but was clearly just not the same player after a different hamstring problem.

Against the Timberwolves, Gordon is also hitting a lot of lows in the NBA Playoffs in terms of production. Coach Adelman has only seen Gordon attempt an average four field goals per game and he only hits 42.1% of them while scoring 12.5 points. Jokic and the Nuggets still got some great things out of him despite this. Notably, he grabs about 7.5 rebounds for the Nuggets.

Gordon was a big reason for why the Nuggets won in 2023 and why they remained contenders for three seasons after that. Will he make it back to tip the odds in this NBA Playoffs series against the Nuggets?
