Nottingham Forest star praises upcoming opponents Manchester United for recent turnaround

Nottingham Forest host Manchester United this Saturday afternoon (November 1), where they will look to secure a maiden Premier League win under new manager Sean Dyche.

The side defeated FC Porto 2-0 in the Europa League last week, but fell to the same scoreline in their new boss' opening league game in charge at Bournemouth last weekend.

Dyche will now be putting his attention to ensuring Forest can halt a United side that has turned a corner recently and improved considerably on the pitch.

Ruben Amorim's team have strung together three successive league victories, with a impressive 2-1 win away at Premier League holders and arch-rivals Liverpool occurring in that run.

United's summer additions Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens have been among the standout performers for the side in recent weeks, with the team finally appearing to adjust to Amorim's system.

While Dyche and his players will be keen to put a stop to United's good run of form at the City Ground on Saturday, Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White has admitted his delight at seeing The Red Devils do well.

"It’s been incredible to see. Obviously they’ve been going through a tough time in the past couple of years," the attacking midfielder told Stan Sport.

The England international believes United's choice to keep faith in Amorim has been the correct one and the Premier League is better when the club is succeeding.

"They have stuck with the gaffer and the past four or five games are really starting to see how Man United should be playing. That grit and that determination to want to play for the badge."

"I feel like it’s been incredible to see. It’s something I feel like the league’s missed."

However, Gibbs-White acknowledges that he and his teammates need to utilise their own strengths if they are to register a first league win under their new manager this weekend.

"All we can do is focus on ourselves. We can’t focus on how Man United are doing and how their performances are because if we do that then we are almost bowing down to them," he explained.

The 25-year-old is familiar with picking apart his team's next opponents, as he found the net for Forest in victories over United in each of the past two seasons.
