Bryce Underwood's Michigan suffered a 41-27 loss to Arch Manning's Texas in the Citrus Bowl on Wednesday. Underwood struggled with his passing as he went 23 of 42 for 199 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions while adding 69 yards and a TD on 14 carries.

After the game, fans on social media slammed Michigan quarterback Underwood for his subpar performance against the Longhorns.

"Bryce underwood and DJ Lagway are examples that not every 5 star is a 5 star cause they suck," one tweeted. "Bryce Underwood is horrible. Michigan paying this guy that much. Brutal player," another added. "Bryce underwood getting 'turned loose' today," a third commented.

"Bryce is not taking any shots from my way. He wasn’t coached properly and that’s not on him. He went 9-3 and a teenager with no coach in the Big Ten. I know what I watched in high school (Andrew Luck level). You think he goes 9-3 under Harbaugh? sure pal," another added. "Imagine paying Bryce Underwood $12 million to play football," a user tweeted.

Underwood is a former five-star recruit. He was also the consensus No. 1 overall-ranked high school football player in the nation in the 2025 class.

While many schools were keen on signing Underwood, the QB committed to Michigan.

In his first year at Michigan, Underwood completed 202 of 335 passes for 2,428 yards with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also added 392 yards and six TDs on 88 carries.

Underwood led Michigan to a 9-4 record in his freshman year with the Wolverines, which included a bowl game loss to Texas.

Now, it remains to be seen if Underwood will return to Michigan next season, or enter the transfer portal.
