Nobody Wants This Season 3 is on its way!
It’s been only five months since the Emmy-nominated comedy series starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody debuted its second season on Netflix and brought us one step closer to Noah (Brody) and Joanne’s (Bell) hopefully happy ending. Now, the team behind the series — including onscreen best friends/siblings Sasha (Timothy Simons), Morgan (Justine Lupe), and Esther (Jackie Tohn) — is getting back to work on making the show.
On Tuesday, Netflix released a series of photos taken by Bell using a disposable (perhaps inspired by the DECIDER disposable on the carpet at the Season 2 premiere?!), showing the cast and crew on set for the third season of the rom-com series. While no release date has been shared yet, the timeline matches with the turnaround from Season 1 to Season 2, which premiered in October 2024 and October 2025, respectively; Season 3 is expected to premiere in the fall, as well.
In the photos, the cast appears as comfy as ever with each other, hanging out behind the scenes in the early days of production. As far as details and spoilers for the next season, the pictures posted by Netflix and Bell manage to avoid giving anything away.
One thing of note, however, could be that the bangs Esther debuted in Season 2 are no longer present, while Sasha’s hair is now bleached blonde. Could there be a time jump heading into Season 3 or are we looking too much into things? We’ll find out soon, I guess!
“I couldn’t be more excited to head into a third season of this show,” creator Erin Foster told Netflix back in 2025. “It is a privilege to be able to write about my favorite couple on a scale like this.”
With or without a time jump, we anticipate that things are going to be moving fast and furious for Noah and Joanne, especially after that Season 2 finale solidified their status and their future together, come what may. While it may have taken some time for her to come around to the idea of converting, Joanne is seemingly ready to take the next step in their relationship, both for herself and for Noah.
One potential storyline that takes away from us in Season 3 of Nobody Wants This? A Chrismukkah.
At the Season 2 premiere in October, DECIDER spoke with Brody, who starred in The O.C. where the portmanteau holiday first came to life, and he said that his rabbi character in the Netflix show might be too rigid to celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah with Joanne and their potential family one day.
“I think we’ll leave it to [the writers]. If they [Noah and Joanne] continue, and if they have children, that might be a nice thing for the kids. Well, no actually,” he said. “He’s going to need to do Hannukkah by the book. That said, might he be open to a Christmas tree, too? He is a rabbi, but I don’t hate that idea for him.”
Hey, maybe Morgan will still demand a Christmas and we’ll get a Chrismukkah after all. Only time will tell.
The first two seasons of Nobody Wants This are both streaming on Netflix.
Netflix offers three subscription plans to fit your streaming needs. The plans start at $7.99/month for standard with ads and go up to $24.99/month for unlimited ad-free streaming in up to 4K UHD quality.
