Matt Eberflus’ first season as Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator has been nothing short of disappointing. The coach, who was brought in after his tenure as the Chicago Bears head coach to help build a solid defense for the Cowboys, failed in every aspect to achieve that.
As it stands, it doesn't seem like he will get another season in Dallas to prove he can make the fix, as the review coming from the Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones, doesn't seem encouraging. When asked if he's satisfied with the work of Eberflus this season, Jones gave a blunt reply.
“No, not at all," Jerry said on 105.3 The Fan. "We've got a lot of work to do there. I'm sorry if I have let my enthusiasm for the win misrepresent. No, not at all. We've got a lot of work to do over there, but we can do it.”•

The idea of Brian Flores replacing Matt Eberflus has generated a lot of reactions among NFL fans amid the Cowboys' defensive struggles this season. Flores' contract with the Vikings, which has a value of $6.25 billion according to Forbes, expires at the end of the season, and the franchise is looking to extend his stay.
Here's a look at some of the reactions online:
@ProFootballTalk He is currently suing the NFL & 3 teams. No way Jerry is hiring him
@ProFootballTalk Imagine going from Flus to Flores 😂. Would be a hell of an upgrade.
@ProFootballTalk Why would Flores make a lateral move to a talent poor roster?
@ProFootballTalk Brian Flores isn’t going to make a Lateral move he’s literally a top name for Head Coach! Another fake news Florio article!

The dynamics around replacing Matt Eberflus with Brian Flores
Matt Eberflus’ underperformance this season won't be overlooked despite the Cowboys trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers 10 days before Week 1. Thanks to the poor performance of his unit, the Cowboys missed the playoffs for the second consecutive season.
However, it remains unknown whether Jerry Jones will be ready to write the check it takes to bring Brian Flores over to Dallas, as it will be quite competitive. Without a doubt, Flores won't be short of suitors at the end of the season if he fails to reach a new deal with the Vikings.
Jerry Jones never shies away from bold talk, but it remains to be seen if he will finally back it up with his wallet. Despite his flashy persona, he’s long had a quiet reputation around the league for being tight with spending. Nonetheless, the current situation of the Cowboys certainly requires him to make big moves for redemption.
