The Denver Nuggets have been without their star center, Nikola Jokic, for a month.
The three-time MVP suffered a knee injury in late December and was forced to miss several pivotal regular-season contests with the Nuggets. While Denver has played well in Jokic’s absence, the franchise’s offense hasn’t looked the same without the 30-year-old superstar big man.
On Friday, the Nuggets received amazing news about Jokic’s injury status going forward.
“Denver's Nikola Jokic – out since Dec. 29 with a knee injury – plans to return tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers at home,” ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on X/Twitter. “Jokic now is in position to also play in Sunday's showdown vs. Oklahoma City in Denver and be eligible for the season awards.”
Although it was clear Jokic wouldn’t miss the rest of the 2025-26 season with his lower-body injury, many were unsure when the former second-round pick would finally return to Denver’s starting lineup.
With Charania making it known that the Nuggets are officially back in business with Jokic preparing to compete in the franchise’s upcoming clash vs. the Clippers, speculation is no longer necessary.
The do-it-all center is averaging 29.6 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 11.0 assists per game while shooting 60.5% from the field and 43.5% from three-point land in 32 outings with the Nuggets this season.
It’s safe to say all is well in Denver in late January.
