Nike is continuing to honor the legacy of Gigi Bryant, with a new release that pays tribute to her basketball prowess.
Dropping May 1st on what would have been her 19th birthday, are a special set of black and white home and away jerseys that feature Gigi's number 2 on the front, and her name on the back. The jerseys are designed to replicate the ones she wore as a player with the Mamba Sports Academy, and the proceeds from these jerseys will go towards the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation. The jerseys, of course, follow the release of the Kobe 9 Protro EM "Mambacita," which is also set to drop the same day.
The Gigi edition of the popular Kobe 9 Protro is one that represents her spirit as a player, with black and white color schematics that also pay homage to her jersey. Additionally, there's “Mambacita” branding on the tongue, alongside Gigi's name and No. 2 uniform number etched onto the back. Those proceeds will too go towards the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.

There are some additional Kobe Bryant releases in the pipeline in the coming months to look forward to, as Vanessa Bryant previewed several at the beginning of the month during an Instagram reveal. Aside from the "Mambacitas," the Nike Kobe 4 Protro “CHBL” (Chinese High School Basketball League) sneakers were previewed as well, which appear to feature a yellow upper with white accents.
More information is expected to be announced about those upcoming releases in the next few weeks/months.
