How Taylor Swift, Timothée Chalamet and More Stars Score Seats for Knicks' Celebrity Row
Nicole Kidman thinks Taylor Swift’s T-Shirt at the NBA Finals was practically magic.
After the “Karma” singer attended Game 4 in New York City with Alana Haim and Este Haim wearing pun-fill New York Knicks shirts, the Big Little Lies actress shared her reaction to Este’s tee bearing the name “Knickole Kidman.”
“Right there with you girls!” she wrote on her Instagram Stories over a clip of the trio at the game. Plus, the 58-year-old shared a video of the musicians dancing in the shirts to Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” writing, “My girls! I just wanna have fun!”
While Nicole was in awe of the special shoutout, she wasn’t the only one. Indeed, by the end of the June 10 basketball game—which saw the Knicks come from behind to beat the San Antonio Spurs—multiple replicas of the T-shirts were available for purchase.
As for how the viral look came to be, Este explained she custom-made the shirts at home after Taylor—who donned a “Stevie Knicks” shirt while Alana’s featured “Knickleback”—came up with the idea.
“I got a text from Taylor that was really the text that you want to get as an amateur screen printer,” the Haim bandmate told Vogue in an interview published June 11. “She said, ‘I want to wear this shirt to the game, can you make it for me?’ and I was like, ‘I thought you would never ask, this is my dream.’”
Of course, Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay—a celebrity row staple at Madison Square Garden—matched her longtime pal at the game, which was also Taylor’s idea.

“I always bring extras, and Taylor really wanted to bring extras so we could give them to friends,” Este continued. “And Mariska was so down; she’s such an amazing human being, and I’m such a big fan of her, so the fact that she also wanted to wear one of my shirts was insane. It really bonded us all together.”
And that bond truly flourished as the Knicks pulled out their historic victory. As she put it, “I’ve never hugged someone more than at that game. It was such an incredible game, so I was really happy that we had brought extras.”
