Nick Reiner was schizophrenic, and his new medication was making him “out of his head” in the weeks before he allegedly killed Hollywood legendary dad Rob Reiner and his mom Michele, according to a report.

The iconic director’s troubled middle son, 32, was being treated by a psychiatrist for his condition — but in the month before the murders, his behavior became “alarming” as doctors switched his medication, sources told TMZ.

About three to four weeks before Rob Reiner and his wife were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood mansion, his prescription was altered, making him “erratic and dangerous,” the sources said.

Doctors were trying to adjust his medication to balance him out — but the adjustment reportedly was not working and actually made things worse, combined with his substance abuse.
