Nick Jonas claims he might be 'semi-responsible' for the Knicks NBA Playoff success

Could Nick Jonas be the reason why the New York Knicks are doing so well in the NBA Playoffs this year?

According to Jonas, he very well just might be the reason why the Knicks have advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals (a feat they haven't accomplished in 25 years), playfully suggesting that his role on Broadway in "The Last Five Years," could be the secret potion for their success. Taking to Instagram Stories earlier this week, the "Chains" singer told his fans: "Ok, so real quick: The Knicks are in the playoffs, and they could advance to the next round if they win their game against the Celtics tonight."

"During rehearsals for "The Last Five Years", I said to our director, ‘I really think Jamie,’ my character, 'should be a New York basketball fan.' And she was like, 'Great. What team?,'" he continued The team obviously ended up being the New York Knicks, with Jonas adding: "And I was like, 'Well, hmm…good question, what team?' And eventually we decided to make Jamie (Jonas' character) a Knicks fan."

"So I’m not saying that the Knicks are in the playoffs and could potentially go to the next round because of "The Last Five Years" and because of this. But coincidence? I think not."As it turns out, the Knicks didn't end up advancing to the next round the night Jonas recorded the video, but they did wrap things up against Boston two days later, which means Jonas deserves his rightful credit.

Next up for the team is their Eastern Conference Final matchup against the Indiana Pacers, which begins May 21.
