Nick Cannon isn’t shying away from politics — and he’s making his stance crystal clear.
During a March 28 episode of his online series The Big Drive, the Drumline actor hit the road with model and actress Amber Rose, where the conversation quickly turned from casual banter to full-on political debate. And when it came to President Donald Trump, Cannon didn’t hold back.
Rose, who publicly aligned herself with Republicans during the 2024 Republican National Convention, opened up about her political shift, describing herself as a former liberal and Democrat.
As the two cruised along, Cannon pressed her on what prompted the change. “Is that because the bag has gotten so intense and so heavy? You up there with the elite? Not even close. Democrats don’t care about Black people. They don’t care about people of color,” Rose said, sparking laughter from Cannon behind the wheel. “Republicans do, and that’s the misconception.”
“I agree with you 100 percent,” Cannon responded. “Democrats are the party of the KKK (Ku Klux Klan). People don’t know that the Republicans are the party that freed the slaves. I mean, you and I have some conservative views. You’re just a little bit more outspoken about it than I am.”
Still, Cannon made it clear he doesn’t fully align himself with either side.
“I don’t subscribe to either party,” he said. “I rock with W.E.B. Du Bois when he said this: ‘There’s no such thing as two parties. It’s just one evil party with two different names.’”
Rose echoed a similarly flexible stance, adding, “Listen, I’m not married to any party. I voted for Donald Trump because we had two options. And he was definitely by far the better option for us.
“And as of now, I agree with a lot of things that he’s doing.”
Cannon jumped in with his own blunt endorsement: “He’s f***ing cleaning house!”
The moment only escalated from there, with Cannon turning directly to the camera to declare, “We got the Gulf of America now! He’s like the club! He charging five-million-dollar bottle service to get into the country. I f*** with Trump!”
The conversation is just the latest example of Cannon’s anything-goes approach on The Big Drive, where topics range from pop culture to deeply personal territory — and, increasingly, politics.
Outside of his political takes, Cannon has also used his platforms to reflect on his personal life. On a recent episode of his Nick Cannon at Night podcast, the father of 12 pushed back on the term “co-parenting.”
“When you start throwing labels on things, I think it does more harm than help and can get very dangerous, because then everybody else has a preconceived notion of what you’re doing,” he explained.
“I haven’t figured it out yet. I haven’t gotten it all the way right.”
He continued, “But also to your point, if I just step into every situation with respect, and compassion, and individuality. That’s the other thing I always do with anyone I’m involved with in my life.”
Cannon added that he avoids grouping the mothers of his children under one label. “I don’t bunch them together. I really try my hardest not to be like, ‘Oh yeah, my baby mamas,’ you know, unless I’m telling a joke or something like that, but no one wants to be grouped into anything.
“Everyone wants to be treated like an individual with respect and compassion.”
From politics to parenting, Cannon’s unfiltered commentary continues to keep his audience — and the internet — talking.
