Nick Aldis pulled a masterstroke on SmackDown. A debuting WWE star beat a 21-time champion.

Joe Hendry is one of the most popular men on the WWE roster. After gaining traction in TNA Wrestling over the past few years, Hendry started making appearances on NXT before officially becoming a WWE star. Before signing with the Stamford-based promotion, he had already competed in his first Royal Rumble and WrestleMania match. In recent weeks, Joe Hendry has appeared in backstage segments with The Miz.

Tonight on SmackDown, The Miz finally faced off against Joe Hendry in a Miracle on 34th Street Fight. The match was changed to a Miracle on 34th Street Fight at the last minute by Nick Aldis. This was a Christmas-themed street fight and also featured R-Truth, Akira Tozawa, and Otis. In the end, Hendry was able to defeat The Miz after slamming him through a table. This also marked Joe's first win on the main roster. While he competed in the Royal Rumble and at WrestleMania, he wasn't on the winning side.

The Miz interrupted Joe Hendry's concert on WWE SmackDown

Tonight on SmackDown, the show kicked off with a Joe Hendry concert. He sang a very entertaining and funny version of Jingle Bells that mocked The Miz. The A-Lister was not amused by Joe's musical talent, and he interrupted the concert.

The Miz informed Hendry that he was the locker room leader now that John Cena is gone from the Stamford-based promotion. The segment didn't end well for Miz as Nick Aldis came out and changed the match stipulation to a Miracle on 34th Street Fight. Needless to say, this didn't make the A-Lister happy.

It's good to see Joe Hendry win his first match on SmackDown. Only time will tell if the former TNA star will live up to his hype.
