In 2014, Adrian Peterson was arrested in Texas for hitting his child with a tree branch or a switch. According to reports, he was punishing his son after he pushed his other child, who was playing a motorbike video game.
This beating resulted in the child having bruises on his back, legs, scrotum, and buttocks. The ex-NFL star was charged with negligent injury to a child and was held on a $15,000 bond.
Peterson was playing for the Minnesota Vikings at that time. The league decided to suspend him for a year due to his actions. However, in February 2015, he was reinstated to the league by U.S. District Court Judge David Boty.
Adrian Peterson had found himself in legal trouble over DWI and gun charges
Back in October, the ex-NFL running back was arrested by the police in Sugar Land, Texas. The police caught him at around 9:30 in the morning on charges of driving while intoxicated and for unlawfully carrying a weapon.
He was later released from Fort Bend County Jail on a $3,000 bond.
This was the second time this year that Peterson was arrested by the police. In April, the Minnesota police caught him for driving while impaired.
He had a 0.14% blood alcohol level while doing 83mph in a 55mph zone. Peterson was returning after attending an NFL draft event for fans of the Minnesota Vikings.
Adrian Peterson spent 15 seasons playing in the NFL. He tallied a total of 14,918 yards and 120 touchdowns rushing in 184 games. While not officially retired, the former four-time All-Pro has not played a single game since 2021.
