If there's one thing we can say for sure about Las Vegas Raiders No. 1 overall pick and quarterback Fernando Mendoza, it's that he handles himself with poise and maturity.
We saw those traits during his collegiate career at Indiana, and we're once again seeing those traits as he transitions to the NFL.
When you hear Mendoza speak, you can't help but be impressed, and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is in the same boat.
During an episode of ESPN's NFL Draft documentary, "The Pick Is In," there's a clip that reveals Goodell heaping praise on Mendoza for how he handles himself while speaking to the media.
"This kid's like a machine," Goodell said. "He has all the right answers... but he's a genuine kid. It's real."

If Mendoza can cement himself as a superstar quarterback in the NFL, there's no doubt he'll be a fantastic ambassador for the Raiders and the sport as a whole.
What's next for Fernando Mendoza?
Mendoza will navigate his first NFL offseason and has a lot being thrown at him as he tries to learn new head coach Klint Kubiak's offense.
Mendoza compared all the information coming at him to a "firehose," and admitted "it's a lot."
That's not at all surprising. Going to the NFL comes with a lot of different things and that can be overwhelming for any rookie, no matter how prepared they think they are.
But if there's anyone with the right mentality to handle it all, it's Mendoza.
It'll be interesting to see if he'll be ready to be the team's starter by Week 1.
Kubiak has said he prefers a rookie quarterback to sit initially, and the Raiders are in position to allow Mendoza to do that after signing veteran Kirk Cousins, who is also a fantastic mentor for the young quarterback.
Mendoza will get his opportunity to win the starting job against Cousins during the rest of the offseason, but don't be surprised if it's Cousins starting in Week 1.
