NFL coach compares Dolphins' Jordyn Brooks to a 5x All-Pro LB in his prime

While the Miami Dolphins gutted their roster for the most part this offseason, there are a few key players still sticking around. Aaron Brewer, De'Von Achane, and Jordyn Brooks are the big three staying in Miami.

Brewer and Achane were ranked inside ESPN's top-10 positional rankings poll of NFL scouts, coaches, and executives. While they weren't at the top of the ranking, they at least made it into the top-10. The same can be said for Brooks.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler shared that Brooks was ranked as a top-10 off-ball linebacker in the NFL, coming in at No. 7 overall. But, amid that ranking, one NFL coach compared Brooks to a five-time All-Pro in his prime, which is some lofty praise for the Miami LB.

Jordyn Brooks compared to five-time All-Pro LB in his prime

"Brooks has a skill set similar to Demario Davis when he was young -- really strong, fast, physical, can play in space, very good tackle," one NFL coordinator said.

While Brooks isn't compared to Luke Kuechly, like Cleveland Browns linebacker Carson Schwesinger was in this ranking, this comparison is still an encouraging one.

Demario Davis is a 14-year NFL veteran who has been a five-time All-Pro, with one first-team and four second-team All-Pros in his career.

If Brooks were to turn into Davis, who has been one of the best linebackers of the last decade, it would be a huge win for the Dolphins' linebacker.

This past season, Brooks had three passes defended, one forced fumble, 3.5 sacks, and an NFL-leading 183 tackles and 99 solo tackles. He also had 13 tackles for loss and four quarterback hits.

Brooks earned a first-team All-Pro nod for his incredible 2025 season. If Brooks were to follow Davis' career arc, he'd have four straight second-team All-Pro nods from 2026 through the 2029 season.

While Davis might not be the most exciting comparison, if Brooks were an All-Pro, even if only second-team, for the next four years, that would be a huge win for the Dolphins and Brooks.

As this NFL coach notes, Brooks is a younger version of Davis, and if he can continue to reach his potential in Miami, he could be in store for some truly incredible seasons.

Brooks has some great traits, and if this Demario Davis comparison sticks, the Dolphins LB has four more All-Pro nods in his future. That's about as good as it could get for Miami.
