Lamine Yamal's best days on the pitch are likely still ahead of him after breaking onto the scene as a global superstar as a teenager, but he has a chance to follow in Kylian Mbappe's footsteps and win the World Cup as a teenager.
Yamal has been viewed as the future face of Spanish soccer since he was a young age; while he hasn't been a dominant force in his first World Cup, he did become one of the tournament's youngest-ever goal-scorers when he scored for Spain in the group stage.
Yamal reached this stage in part because of his close bond with his family, including his parents.
Here's a full look at Yamal's family tree, from his parents to his famous younger brother.

Lamine Yamal dad: Mounir Nasraoui
Yamal's father, Mounir Nasraoui, was born in Morocco and reportedly worked blue-collar jobs while his son was growing up.
Nasraoui separated from Yamal's mother when Yamal was only three years old, but he remained a major part of his son's life and remains a public supporter at games.
After working different jobs when he was younger, including as a building painter, Nasaroui has been able to take a step back with his son quickly rising to fame.
"There are many out there who say stupid things. They say, 'Come on, why don't you go to work? You live off your son,'" Nasraoui said in a social media video in 2025. "I'll tell you something, gentlemen: 'Thanks, son. I will always be grateful to you. I will live off you.'"
In 2024, Nasraoui found himself in the headlines when he was stabbed multiple times in a Mataro, Spain, parking lot, but he recovered without suffering maor injuries.
Because Yamal's parents were both young when they had him, Nasraoui is still under 40 years old as of 2026.

Lamine Yamal mom: Sheila Ebana
Yamal's mother, Sheila Ebana, was born in Equatorial Guinea before moving to Spain, where she settled in Catalonia. Ebana took up work as a waitress and gave birth to Yamal at just 16 years old, the Spanish star said in a 2026 radio interview.
Ebana is still only in her mid-30s even as her son competes on the world's biggest stage for Spain, but she no longer has to struggle to support her family.
In fact, Ebana has become somewhat of a social media star herself, amassing one million Instagram followers with posts showing her supporting her son at games and spending time with her 3-year-old son, Keyne.
Here's a look at how Keyne has become a sensation of his own.

Lamine Yamal brother
Yamal's half-brother, Keyne, is just three years old, but he has become popular among Spanish fans and is seen reliably at just about every one of his older brother's games.
Born to Ebana in late 2022 with a different father than Yamal, Keyne can be seen waving, cheering and even chanting along with Spanish fans at World Cup games, as well as regularly appearing at Barcelona games to cheer on his brother.
Lamine told reporters after Spain's World Cup win over Austria, "I'm moved when I see my little brother this happy, as well as seeing my mum and friends living the life they always dreamed of."
When Keyne was shown on the big screen at the end of Spain's quarterfinal win over Belgium, it got Lamine's attention for a heartwarming moment:

Lamine Yamal sister
Yamal also has a younger half-sister named Baraa, through his father. Baraa's life has largely remained private, unlike Keyne's, but Yamal is known to keep his entire family close.
Lamine Yamal grandmother: Fatima Nasraoui
Yamal also has a close relationship with his grandmother, Fatima Nasaroui, who came over to Spain from Morocco before bringing her children — including Yamal's father — over to the European nation.
Nasraoui snuck onto a bus to get out of Morocco, and Yamal has said she "started working three shifts so my father could come" as well. Once she did earn enough money, Nasraoui paid another woman to bring over her two children when they were only three years old.
Yamal remains so close with Nasaroui that he delayed his official signing ceremony with Barcelona until she could join.
Where is Lamine Yamal from?
Yamal was born in Esplugues de Llobregat, Spain, in the Barcelona metro area.
Yamal's father is from Morocco, while his mother is from Equatorial Guinea. Yamal is eligible to play for Morocco but chose to play for Spain, a decision that sparked some backlash from Moroccan fans.
Yamal's father came over to Spain when he was three years old, after Yamal's grandmother first made the journey and started anew in the European nation.
