New York Giants standout projected to take another leap in 2025 NFL season

New York Giants star wide receiver Malik Nabers didn't take long before announcing his arrival as one of the league's top wideouts. In just 15 games as a rookie, Nabers set the Giants' single-season receiving record with 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns.

And remember: he was that productive while catching passes from Daniel Jones, Tommy DeVito, and Drew Lock.

In other words, Nabers made lemonade out of lemons.

As the 2025 NFL season approaches, Nabers' outlook is even brighter. New York revamped the quarterback back room with veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, and invested a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft on Jaxson Dart.

Wilson will begin the year behind center for Big Blue, with Dart expected to make his NFL debut at some point later in the year.

Regardless of who's throwing passes for the Giants, it'll be an upgrade from what Nabers experienced in his first season, and as a result, he ranked atop all second-year wideouts in a recent 'confidence meter' entering 2025.

"One question to consider: can Wilson get him the football enough on in-breaking routes?" Bleacher Report's Damian Parson wrote. "Wilson doesn’t throw the ball into the middle of the field often. In-breakers were Nabers' most targeted route, followed by vertical routes. In his second year, Nabers shouldn’t take a step back. His game should continue to mature, and his touchdowns should increase with a full season’s workload."

There's a very good chance Nabers will surpass 100 receptions again, and with Wilson having one of the NFL's best deep balls, Nabers should go well over the 1,204 receiving yards he had as a rookie. In fact, 1,500 yards is well within his reach, as are 10 touchdowns or more.

Translation? Malik Nabers could end the 2025 NFL season as the NFL's leader in receiving yards while also challenging to lead the league in touchdowns. Think Ja'Marr Chase in Giants blue.

Yeah, Nabers could be that good this year.
