Despite a 6-11 record and last-place finish in the NFC South, there were some promising signs for the New Orleans Saints a year ago. The Saints, with young quarterback Tyler Shough, are hopeful that things are on the rise.
The first order of business will be hitting the 2026 NFL Draft out of the park. With eight picks, including the No. 8 pick in the first round, the Saints have some work to do.

Prediction for Saints' next pick: Round 1, Pick No. 8
With the No. 8 pick, there are a few ways this can go. I expect the Saints to take the best player available, and at that point, it will be Carnell Tate out of Ohio State.

Saints NFL Draft needs
Wide receiver: Having Chris Olave makes needing a WR not as big of a need as some would think, but if I were the Saints, I'd be focused on adding another option with him.
Edge: The Saints have been looking for a dominant edge rusher for what seems like a year or two now. Reuben Bain could be there. Maybe Arvell Reese or David Bailey is, too? Probably not, but it would be a good problem to have for New Orleans.
