New LeBron James 'Second Decision' announcement prediction will disappoint NBA fans

LeBron James appeared in the headlines on Monday for a surprising reason.

The 40-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star unexpectedly revealed that he’ll be making a special announcement on Tuesday at noon.

James referred to it as ‘The Second Decision’ (James’ initial decision came in 2010, when he stated that he would be leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers to join the Miami Heat).

While many believe James’s announcement could be centered around his retirement, a new prediction about the upcoming event will unquestionably disappoint NBA fans.

“James, who will turn 41 in December, has been facing speculation about his playing future, amid possible retirement plans, and the Tuesday announcement could address that,” USA Today’s Lorenzo Reyes wrote.

“James, however, is also a brand ambassador for several companies, including Nike, Draft Kings, and Pepsi. James has also partnered with Amazon, even appearing in a July commercial to promote that month’s Prime Day event.”

“If the Tuesday announcement is indeed a marketing event, one possible link could be to Amazon, which is launching another Prime Day sales event on Tuesday.”

Essentially, Reyes believes James is playing a harmless yet annoying game with the NBA world.

It’s reasonable to assume that 99.9% of individuals’ minds went straight to James’ future in the big leagues when his announcement was made, which is exactly what James and team wanted.

All eyes will be on James on Tuesday afternoon, but if Reyes’ hunch is correct, the 21-time All-Star’s marketing chops will come into play as he reminds Amazon users about a special event.
