Will you try to find it?
Image: Epic GamesFortnite Treasure Hunters is here at last. This season is all about pirates and plundering treasure. Players can look the part using the Straw Hat Pirates skins from One Piece. It can get expensive to purchase cosmetics in Fortnite, but this season, there's an in-game item that makes everything in the Item Shop free. It almost sounds too good to be true, but it's real, and it's out there on the Battle Royale island.
One Piece was the perfect crossover for this year's mini-season, as Fortnite Treasure Hunters is all about anime and pirates. The Battle Pass features Ace and Robin, but there are more skins to collect in the Item Shop. The first released bundle includes Luffy, Nami, and Usopp, and it costs 4,000 V-Bucks, about $30. It's already quite expensive, and the number of One Piece skins in the shop will only grow as the season continues. Thankfully, Epic Games has introduced the Pirate Shop Access token, an item that grants players everything in the shop for free.
How to get the Pirate Shop Access token in Fortnite and how it works
This season, there are Treasure-Hunt chests in Fortnite. These special loot containers grant a free gizmo, a cosmetic item, or a token. The Pirate Shop Access token is a rare reward that can be found in these chests. If players are lucky enough to get it, the entire team will be able to plunder the Item Shop for two weeks, meaning that during this window of time, they can claim every item for free. This means they can get the One Piece bundle and any other skin, emote, or jam track in the shop. Exceptions include sidekicks that have already been purchased once and real-money purchases, such as special bundles and the Fortnite Crew.
The Pirate Shop Access token can be activated twice: once before Dec. 15, and once again in 2027. The effect lasts two weeks, so players must choose the right time. Once an item has been claimed, it is added to the player's locker permanently, even after the token expires.
Although the Pirate Shop Access token is rare, there are ways to increase your chances of finding it. Since this item is shared among a team, playing Squads increases search efficiency, thanks to the extra pairs of hands. Visiting named locations with a higher loot concentration increases your chances of coming across Treasure-Hunt chests. Treasure Hours will begin next Sunday and are rumored to increase the spawn rate of the Pirate Shop Access token.
There are other items that can be found inside the Treasure-Hunt chests, and they change weekly. For Week 1 of the season, players have the chance to find the Solid Gold A$AP Rocky skin. Next week, the chests may contain the Solid Gold Lil Uzi Vert skin instead.
