New Falcons kicker Parker Romo had no idea who his teammate was in viral TV interview

The Falcons’ Week 2 hero is so new to the team that he apparently still doesn’t know who some of his teammates are.

Kicker Parker Romo went 5-for-5 on field goals in Atlanta’s 22-6 road win over the Vikings Sunday night, including a 54-yarder, after being elevated from the practice squad on Saturday.

During a postgame interview with NBC’s Melissa Stark, Romo — no relation to Tony Romo — was standing between running back Bijan Robinson and pass rusher Leonard Floyd when Stark mentioned Romo was still learning his new teammates’ names.

“You know their names, right?”

“I know Bijan,” Romo replied, pointing at the running back who had 22 carries for 143 yards in the win.

“This is Leonard Floyd over here,” Stark said to Romo, who then shook hands with Floyd.

“Man, 10 years in the league, come on! Former No. 9 pick in the draft. Dude, what’s your name, man? Nice to meet you,” play-by-play caller Mike Tirico said after the interview wrapped up.

Romo, 28, had stints with the Saints, Lions and Bears since going undrafted in 2022, but didn’t make his NFL debut until last November with the same Vikings team he helped defeat on Sunday. He went 11-for-12 on field goals with Minnesota last season.

He was cut three weeks ago by the Patriots and signed with the Falcons’ practice squad last Tuesday.

Romo found out he’d be the team’s kicker Saturday morning as the Falcons decided to sit Younghoe Koo.

He likely earned the chance to kick for the Falcons again next Sunday against the Panthers — giving him more time to introduce himself to all of his teammates.
