Luka Modric is all set to leave Real Madrid this summer after the conclusion of the FIFA Club World Cup.
As his contract at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu comes to an end in July, Modric has already confirmed his decision to part ways with Real Madrid, after 13 illustrious years in the Spanish capital.
Since his announcement in May, several clubs from the Saudi Pro League and Major League Soccer are reportedly chasing the Croatian on a free transfer.
However, Modric has been heavily linked with AC Milan and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed the midfield maestro has reached a verbal agreement, with a medical pencilled in for July.
Modric is expected land at the San Siro after the tournament with the Serie A side's sporting director, Igli Tare dropping a bold update.

"I spoke to him in person and saw a guy who is eager to be competitive. His arrival is crucial for a group that needs players like him, with leadership. The first question Luka asked me was: 'Will we be a team built to win the championship? He's won six UEFA Champions Leagues and wants to be a star player from the start."

"He's important for what he conveys in mentality, leadership and professionalism. The fact he's an AC Milan fan makes the story even more exciting, and it would be great for him to have a stellar season, as at the end of next season is the World Cup," added Tare.
The report suggests Modric will sign a one-year contract in Milan, which will include an option to extend for another year. His net salary is estimated to be around €3.5m [$4m] per season, with bonuses.
