While things haven't gone well for the Brooklyn Nets over the course of the opening slate of games, there have been some bright spots along the way for some of their players. One of which was Egor Demin's 22-point outing against the Cleveland Cavaliers, which has been the high point of his season thus far and will most likely be that way for some time due to some recent events.

During Brooklyn's overtime loss to the Boston Celtics, the second-year guard left the match due to a contusion in his right knee, bringing his night to an early end. While Demin was optimistic about not having to miss too much time due to the injury after the match, it appears he'll be sidelined.

Demin to miss at least a week; will be re-evaluated further

According to a post put out by the Nets, Demin is dealing with a bone bruise in his right leg, the same side that suffered from the contusion against Boston, and will be re-evaluated in a week's time.

Using this initial timeframe, the Russian guard is slated to miss a minimum of three games, as the Nets take on the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, as well as the New York Knicks and Charlotte Hornets in the coming week.

This will deprive Brooklyn's backcourt of one of their more promising stars, as Demin was one of the more notable players for the Nets last season, averaging 10.3 points and 3.3 assists across 52 games.

For now, Jordi Fernandez will have the likes of Nolan Traore, Keon Ellis, and rookie Mikel Brown Jr to take the reins while Demin recovers from his bone bruise.
