World No. 1 golfer Nelly Korda performed better in her second round at the 2025 ShopRite LPGA Classic than in her first round. Following her improved performance, she revealed that the good weather conditions played a role in the outcome of her game.

Korda turned pro in 2016 and joined the Symetra Tour that same year. She won the 2016 Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge and joined the LPGA Tour in 2017. So far, she has won 15 events on the LPGA Tour and three events on the Ladies European Tour.

The Bradenton-born golfer has yet to win an LPGA Tour event this year and is attempting to do so at the ShopRite LPGA Classic. On day one, she made par after shooting four bogeys and four birdies. On day two, she performed significantly better and scored 5-under after shooting one bogey and six birdies.

When asked to mention the biggest difference between the two rounds, Nelly Korda said (via ASAP Sports):

“I think the weather was better. Wasn’t as windy. We were playing in pretty gusty conditions yesterday, and with the greens being kind of smaller already, it’s tough to kind of judge your starting target with everything. Just makes it a little bit more difficult. When the wind is down, you can be a bit more aggressive.”

Nelly Korda carded a total of 5-under, making the cut line of 2-under. She shot up the leaderboard and is now sitting at T25, tied with Madison Young, Mary Liu, and seven other golfers.

Nelly Korda will tee off for her final round in the 54-hole tournament by 10:50 a.m. on Sunday, June 8. She is grouped with Mary Liu, and the two will start from the first tee.
